Engagement: Elizabeth + DJ

Yesterday afternoon I had the most loving and sweet couple to photograph! They were complete naturals in front of the camera and made my job so easy!!! Below is one of the very first shots from the session and I love it! DJ was hilarious and Liz couldn’t help but laugh at him. The two of them are getting married in February at Fernbank and I can’t wait! Liz is going to make a beautiful bride!

We had fun playing with scarves and hat for the shoot which would make total sense in mid December…..if it wasn’t 70 degrees in Georgia right now! Ha! But we did it anyway and I loved the photos!

Engagement: Heather + Josh

Heather and Josh are getting married next summer and we had a great time Saturday shooting their engagement session. The weather was perfect for fall…not too cold…and the leaves have hung on just long enough for us to have some beautiful colors. It was so sweet to watch the two of them sit together while Josh played her a song and kissed her nose. They have such a genuine kindness with one another that it was inspiring. Congratulations to you both! Can’t wait to see you again soon!

I absolutely love the fall in Atlanta! The colors are truly breathtaking! We had such a beautiful day for Betsy and Elliot’s engagement shoot.They were so incredibly sweet together and I love how Betsy laughed and smiled through the entire photoshoot! So happy! Congratulations you guys and I can’t wait to see you in April!

The Braves are special to both Elliot and Betsy. They had their second date at a game, a perfect photo taken and a first kiss!

I love the changing colors of the fall and they look so beautiful in photographs that it is truly my favorite time of year to be a photographer! Lindsay and Jason are getting married in the spring of 2012 and they were so wonderful to photograph. The star of the show may however, have been their precious pup, Stella!

Friday late afternoon I had a blast walking, chatting, eating cupcakes and take photographs of Jennifer and Joe!! They were so sweet with one another it was wonderful. The weather was amazing and the crowd was definitely out and about in Marietta Square. Congratulations and I can’t wait to see you both next summer at the wedding!

Engagement: Katrina + Chris

Monday morning I photographed Katrina and Chris’ engagement session at Fernbank Museum in Atlanta, GA. When they walked up and I saw that adorable polka dot dress and their flowers and balloons my heart fluttered! I knew right then that this was going to be an amazing shoot but I didn’t know how amazing. Yes we had fun and we got great photos but what was even more memorable for me was Katrina and Chris. They are such generous and loving people. Their sincerity and love, not just for each other but for others, was like a shining light. Katie, a fellow photographer and friend, came with me to assist on the shoot and we were both left with such a feeling of warmth from just spending a short time with the both of them we were in awe. Needless to say I can’t wait for their wedding! I can only imagine how their love will be magnified on that day and I am honored and excited to photograph them. Congratulations to you both. We loved you guys and I can’t wait to see you in October!

Molly and Danny were so cute together! Molly was so excited for the photo shoot that she was beaming all morning! I thrived off her enthusiasm and it made the session that much more fun!

Danny has served in the armed services and Molly wanted to celebrate her hero!

A couple of Mays ago I was so excited to photograph and old college friend’s wedding. At that wedding Jennifer was a bridesmaid and we had a ton of fun hanging with all the girls that day. Engagement: Leigh Anne + Patrick

Yesterday was such an amazing and unique engagement session! Leigh Anne is from Georgia and Patrick is from Indiana. They met fell in love and have flown too many times to count just to be together. So I was entirely happy when Leigh Anne told me she had read my “Let’s Skip The Park” blog post and wanted to do something a lot more personal. We had started in the historic downtown Griffin for just a few quick shots then scooted over to the airport! They will always remember and I am sure tell their children and grandchildren of how they traveled so much and so far just to see one another. I love it when we can incorporate a story into a session. We took lots of photographs on the runway and thanks to Leigh Anne’s connections they even got to get inside one of the planes. She is also a photographer so we had to take some with her and a camera. Patrick was an awesome model for her! We had the constant threat of rain the entire day and as luck would have it I didn’t feel the first drop until we were all done and packing up! What a great day! I can’t wait to head to Indiana this August for their wedding!

Education: July Workshops

One thing that I love is getting together with others who enjoy photography and talking technique and creativity while also working with charities. I am excited to offer my workshop classes for a second time this year! A portion of the proceeds will go to charities that aid the world community. The classes will be held July 11 and 12 in Griffin, Georgia. They cover a variety of topics from learning how to get great exposures, posing, branding, how to conduct client meetings, setting prices, shooting with flash and basic studio lighting techniques. Monday’s class is for the new professional as well as the avid amateur. Tuesdays classes are geared more toward the business professional and amateur photographers that are seeking to advance their flash and lighting skills.
