Last year I was lucky enough to have my name passed along to a guy named Andrew from Showit, a website company. The company that I use for my own site and love. They were doing a tour around the country and needed locals in each city to help with set and breakdown and other little details throughout the day. He emailed me and asked if I could help out, totally out of the blue. I was super happy to come help and meet everyone and loved the speakers that were there and learned tons. On a side note, I have been following the work of Jasmine Star, a photographer from Orange County, for about the last 2 years. She just released her book Exposed and I quickly clicked the purchase button and read it cover to cover. I say this to give you some indication of the complete and utter excitement I felt when Andrew again out of the blue emails me and tells me of Jasmine doing a tour titled “The Fix” and that he was working with her and wanted to know if I would be available to help once again. I think I screamed staring at the email, ok probably more of a squeal but I quickly replied YES YES YES!!!
Last night Jasmine was here in town. I showed up early in the day along with 6 other photographers and we were so lucky to chat with her before the event. It was wonderful meeting with her and her husband JD along with seeing everyone on the tour. I loved meeting all the photographers that traveled from as far as Ohio to be there. Most of all I loved hearing Jasmine speak. She talked about promoting and growing a photography business as well as client care and vendor relationships. I have pages of notes that I will no doubt read over and over through the next few days and I am looking forward to giving my clients an even better experience.
I am so thankful to Andrew for thinking of me and giving me such a great opportunity along with a rockin’ t-shirt!
Thank you Jasmine for all your hard work and willingness to share. You are an inspiration to me and a wonderful example of how I should relate to my clients as well as my peers.

Me and Jessica before the event in our awesome shirts. We look a bit excited I think! ha!
